Before Jesus ascended to heaven, He commanded his disciples to wait in Jerusalem until they received power. (Acts 1:8). They received power when the Holy Spirit came upon them. As a result, 3000 people were saved immediately after that first preaching from the apostles. (Acts 2:41). It was the beginning of the church.
The word “church” means “a gathering of believers ”. The church was not created by men; God has brought together people who know Him personally and want to worship and serve Him. In the Bible the church is called the Body of Christ, whose Head is Christ himself. (1-Kor.12).
The “real” church is not a building. It’s a fellowship of people who put Jesus Christ first in their lives. If you would like to know more about God, study the Bible and see positive changes in your life - which are only possible through Jesus - you need to attend a Christian church where God’s Word is preached and He is worshipped.
